Billionaires don’t need money - they want money. They have what they have because of greed. I wouldn’t trust Elon with holding some pocket change for me.

The NIH indirect cost maneuver may have the opposite effect. Grantees can go through the effort of accounting for the costs as direct costs. There would also be a cost to doing that additional work. The point of indirect costs is to acknowledge that some costs are difficult to attribute.
