Because they don’t see us as people, only as extensions of themselves. We should have no feelings or thoughts apart from theirs, according to them.

It’s never too late to be kind to yourself. Sending gentle hugs because I too had a narcissist mother and I get it. Cutting her off was the best thing I ever did for my sanity.

But also, a lot of these parents refuse to respect boundaries in the first place. Mine certainly ignored them, leading to me cutting them off permanently.

Now my mother is dead and I am relieved.

And asked if they perhaps had another toilet I could use. She said “Sure, we have another toilet in the showroom that you can use.”

Folks, this toilet had NO WALLS around it and was right beside a floor to ceiling window on a very busy street in downtown Vancouver (Robson).
