This week, I’m hosting The Daily Show Tuesday through Thursday.

It’s my first time hosting anything on TV. Ever.

I’ve spent years writing behind the scenes, learning from truly great and talented people. Now, for three nights, I get to sit at the desk and do it myself.

New policy: no sleeping unless the hands are held.
A black and white cat with closed eyes rests on a bed, extending one paw to gently hold a person's hand. The scene is cozy, with patterned quilts and soft lighting creating a peaceful atmosphere.

So I went to the gym today. I live in TX so of course Fox News was the main channel for news that was on.

The one headline I saw before turning my head to the tv that had HGTV on was.

Greta Thunberg grounded. Infantilizing while supporting a genocide.

Le sigh.

This meta-analysis goes against the common narrative.

"Results indicate that ChatGPT has a large positive impact on improving learning performance (g = 0.867) and a moderately positive impact on enhancing learning perception (g = 0.456) and fostering higher-order thinking (g = 0.457)."

How it was made was definitely evil training on sources that no one consented to.

But it can absolutely search.

Yes, ChatGPT is a tool not a god. Yes, you should know what output you are looking for before you ask it a question and then double check its validity. But it is an incredibly powerful tool that can be used ethically or for evil.

If you spread false information I will unfollow you.

ChatGPT can absolutely search the Internet. It is not only a predictive language model. It has changed so much in the little more than 2 years it's been out. Yes hallucinations still happen.

It was dangerous to alert me that this Nelko label printer was $15 so now I'm printing labels everything in my house including my bookshelf.

I'm making each icon in ChatGPT, then adding the image to the label, and then printing them for my bookshelf.

I'm in love with labeling things.
A close-up photo of a white handheld label printer resting on striped fabric. Two black-and-white printed labels are affixed to the printer. The first label on the left reads "TTRPG" with an icon of a sword and a 20-sided die. The second label reads "Comics" and features a cartoon-style character speaking in a word bubble. A wider shot of the same label printer, now displaying a full sequence of black-and-white labels wrapped around it. From left to right, the labels read: "TTRPG" with a sword and die icon, "Comics" with the speaking cartoon character, and "Non-fiction" with an icon of a person in explorer gear holding a pencil and scissors, suggesting science and crafting themes.

I have zero clue what this movie was called but does anyone remember the awful rich man who was cursed with being homeless for a month and learned compassion? If curses were real we have a large sector of society that needs this lesson.

Every single job in my niche field has 100+ applications on it within the first couple of hours it's up on LinkedIn. I've had a handful of interviews but nothing has gone anywhere.

I have done biomedical research for the past few years. I grad in Dec and have been job searching since. I have an incredible GPA, multiple publications, and have experience teaching secondary and college level. I wanted to go industry.

I can't find a job and I can't find anything else to apply for

Went to Fort Worth today to visit a friend and stopped in to the Kimbell which was absolutely gorgeous to look at the "Modern Art and Politics in Germany 1910-1945. Here are a few of my favorite pieces.
Head in Brass by Rudolf Belling (1925)

A brass bust from 1925 representing a stylized female head with simplified, geometric features and a strand of metal sweeping across the face like hair. The sculpture blends expressive form with precision, suggesting emotion within abstraction. Although it appears as a modernist symbol of elegance, the piece once sparked controversy in Weimar Germany. Critics debated whether it conveyed the spiritual essence of a human or reduced the face to pure surface and design. Belling resisted easy classification, working in a style that navigated between Expressionism and New Objectivity. The sculpture was later denounced as “degenerate art” by the Nazis, but it survived and was reintroduced to the public in 1977 by the Nationalgalerie in Berlin. The Early Train by Oskar Nerlinger (1928)
A 1928 painting using black, white, and red to depict a regimented scene of silhouetted workers walking in diagonal lines toward a train labeled “Berlin.” A bright red radio tower dominates the center, radiating beams that divide the composition into angular sections. The stylized forms and geometric layout evoke the structure and momentum of industrial labor. Nerlinger, a committed Communist, aimed to portray “a harder rhythm of life,” reflecting the mechanized, collective experience of the working class in Weimar-era Germany. The painting emphasizes locomotion and labor, using dramatic lighting, high contrast, and minimal color to capture both the alienation and coordination of modern urban work life. The work aligns with Nerlinger’s belief that modern art must serve revolutionary goals and reflect the struggles of the proletariat. Self-Portrait with Stinging Nettle by Curt Querner (1933)

A 1933 oil painting of Curt Querner standing in a dim attic-like space. He wears a black turtleneck and beige trousers, holding a sprig of stinging nettle in one hand. His expression is tense and defiant, with furrowed brows and a piercing stare. The stinging nettle, a plant known for its painful sting, symbolizes Querner’s resistance to rising fascism and aligns with his Communist beliefs. The cramped, shadowed setting and stark lighting amplify the mood of political urgency and personal resolve during the Nazi rise to power.

Two cats are resting on a cat tree in front of a bookshelf filled with tabletop RPG boxes and game sets. One black-and-white cat lounges on the lower platform with a paw dangling off the edge, while a tabby cat sleeps curled up inside a cube-shaped wooden hideaway above. The scene is cozy, softly lit, and surrounded by games like Fallout, One Ring, and Dungeons & Dragons.
