“This strategy involves gathering input, building consensus, identifying multipliers, sharing best practices and letting researchers speak for themselves. In this article, we elaborate on this approach…” Excellent!

When folks ask what successful #DiamondOpenAccess can look like, I always point to Latin America and it's 25+ yr history of institutionally sponsored, scholar led #openaccess (which is increasingly threatened by the commercialization of academic publishing). Kudos to @scielo.org Redalyc AmeliCA
Latin American journals are open-access pioneers. Now, they need an audience

These slides are so great. Loads of cool projects referenced here to follow up on, plus a kind mention of one of our Radical OA pamphlets on guerrilla open access.
Today I led a workshop with a group of Belgian librarians, publishers, and artists about the library as a commons (in the land of Otlet!) — and what it means to defend the commons in an age of accelerating enclosure, distrust, and disinformation

I’m a public librarian in a degenerating democracy, and I am pleading: Care about your library. Use it. See what programs and events it offers. And pay attention to its governing body. See who the trustees are. Consider running yourself. Libraries will need all the community support they can get. 📚
