So, it’s 8 weeks until January 1st… and when that mark hits. It’s Public Domain Day 2026, but also… the end of art, itself. And a start of a new chapter that will be a full reboot.
And will say this: it’s mutating, and you’d better evolve with it... or be left behind. SOON, your choice art community

Honestly glad, I’m sticking to royalty-free Mickey Mouse. I prefer the Old Mickey Mouse by Ub and Walt. Paul Rudish in the modern times too to stick it occasionally for free on the ‘Tube. I love Disney the brand but the corporation is questionable. And wouldn’t go far to demonize a mouse.

So tonight. As I’m with dad. He’s here for the last night tonight as I’m visiting him and I feel alone and sad. Because of him leaving but also because of my dog not being in the same room as me especially. And it feels isolating, anxiety feeling and it doesn’t feel complete without him tonight.

So I've copied and took influence from @jakeneutron.bsky.social's Mickey design from 'Steamboat Will' and sodaft-potato (tumblr user)'s Mickey also by trying to combine and make it all into one for this new character while taking off of the original 'Steamboat Willie' Mickey Mouse design for this.
