I wouldn't have described myself as 'anti-'social, but there are points around that time in my life where that would be true.
Since I became a furry, the vast majority of the people I cherish now I met through the fandom. This wolf has found his pack, and I'm eternally thankful for them!

Yup! Growing up, especially around the time I made my fursona, I had a couple friends, but I had disconnected with most of them when I moved on to a different school(s). I had some friends before then too, but I was never truly close with most of them. I was a "lone wolf," in a sense.

I always gravitated towards a wolf as it is a common and easy thing for new furries to understand, like myself at the time. Most of Ringgar's design is focused on who I would like to be more like, but his species is actually a piece of who I used to be.
