Ring of Fire biochar kiln in full bloom. Processing forest waste and thermally converting it to biochar in a flame cap process called pryolysis. This is not the same as incineration or combustion, because while some of the material does burn away, we capture the embodied carbon (biochar) to return to local soils. Biochar helps heal local ecosystems, particularly where the fire cycle has been disrupted. Processing this way reduces green house gas emissions and is immensely safer than open burning.
