You aren't going to find public sales of this kind of thing. I checked. Auction w/ a high minimum seems to be best course of action.

Sometimes I see people like 20 tweets deep into an argument with Grok. Like, what are you doing brother? You are trying to win an argument with a vending machine.

Off-color fetchlands, unborg, phyrexian mana, split cards, transform cards are all separate cases. Do not veer the argument from hybrid cards. Recognize that other oddall CI arguments are separate from hybrid mana.

"It ain't broke, don't fix it". Actually, many 60 card enthusiasts viewed the committee hybrid rule as an issue. Folks moved on from the format or reluctantly agreed to the terms. It's simply been a very long time.

If you weren't there for it, the forums of the internet in '08 were a war zone.

Personally, I've always thought it was painful and odd that hybrid commanders operated CI "normally" despite the hybrid restriction for the 99.

Hard to say this with 100% confidence but my gut reaction is that none of the currently existing hybrid cards would break gameplay in any way. Yeah, manamorphose is great in Red/Blue storm decks. Toss it onto the pile.

Beseech the queen is a 6 mana tutor (with a restriction!) For mono-whatever. Ok.

Color identity started out as a byproduct of commander in the early aughts and eventually made it's way into the comprehensive rules. It's a hack rule that makes corner cases look strange under scrutiny. There isn't a way to make a "cleaner" CI rule, because it was added ex post facto

Wotc and the old EDH committee disagreed on the issue 17 years ago. Wotc views the mechanic as "either" , the old edh committee saw it as "and".

An aesthetic choice made a lifetime ago by people no longer in charge. Aligning the premiere format with card design philosophy is logical.

Aesthetic is subjective and therefore irrelevant.

Small shake ups like this are great for magic formats. It encourages reevaluations for the fully entrenched players and matters very little to new players
