I 100% agree. I would say DOS2 is almost better when you think about it had to pave the way for BG3 and wasn't as fleshed out a world as Faerun.

My dude, just because you work like that, doesn't mean everyone does. The multiple layers make it easier to change elements without having to destroy them entirely. It's better in the long run, especially if you end up working commercially.
