Any other questions on that poll? As a VA resident, I would bet that many of those who voted MAGA in '24 were dissatisfied with DEMs v. really supporting Trump. No doubt that jobs and the economy have taken precedent over immigration but perhaps not the only reason for Spanberger's success.

Trouble is that he thinks this. (Literally everything) is just like NY borough politics and all he needs is a building permit and enough cash flow to pay most of the bills. He doesn’t care about the details…at all. Life is one big transaction. I believe “the appearance of governance” fits well.

To instill a sense of service we need to value it. We just stood passively by while civil and foreign were cut for political reasons. We lost a ton of expertise and capability and it was met by a collective yawn.

If you believe this is just about one person then his death should start the healing process. However, I fear he has awakened a deeply seeded racism that will spawn a successor. Add the evangelicals and you have a recipe for a long, difficult recovery…if we are lucky.

Does anyone measure “shrinkflation?” Seems we may not see tariffs true impact based on unit sales and many producers don’t advertise the reduction.

Militarization of law enforcement is well documented in Project 2025. It is time for people to stop crisis posting. Somone needs to highlight that we really don't want to return life as it was in the 1870s. Posse Comitatus is a post-Civil War Act that Americans support. Let's remind them why.

I wonder why we seem to have accepted the emergency declarations under which much of this is being done. Obviously, Congress and the Judiciary are accomplices but I believe we should call out the lie as often as we can.

Much as I don’t like hitting the pocketbooks of hourly workers at many of these companies, I also believe that their unlimited financing HAS to come with some
political responsibility. This is about the only way to get their attention.

And if we believe that obliteration of any lefty initiatives is their sole motivation (and I do) then solar certainly was a big part of the Green New Deal. Probably worth triple points for early Plan 2025 drafter to gut anything remotely associated no matter the benefit.

Great legal coverage of a malevolent trump effort to limit voting. I urge you to start future discussions as you ended this one...this is a policy without basis in reality. We MUST start any discussion saying that this is 1) without basis in fact & 2) impose unfunded mandates. Throw the BS flag!
