Would you be willing to share this tool? I'm always very interested in matrix software. We use excel at my work, but its not really the best solution for creating them (large deep strat sites often crash it!).

And utimately is really dishonest. Most archaeology is planned for when building work is schedualed. It isnt a perfect system, and unexpected things do crop up, but archaeology is budgeted for both time and money wise as part of developments
ritualpurposes.bsky.social
And thats really cool in and of itself - Achaeology being part of the building process means we get to see tons of sites in places you could never do a research dig. Most of my career has been working in Central London! But framing it like that makes us easy targets
ritualpurposes.bsky.social
This is really cool, but I do think as a profession we need to stop framing us finding things as "halting construction". The villa was almost certainly uncovered by archaeologists working on the site as part of the planning conditions. That is what the majority of us do!

Construction on a Supermarket screeches to a halt after workers uncovered an #ancient #Roman Villa With Mosaic-Tile Floors. Archaeologists excavated the site on Warrington Road in Olney, Buckinghamshire. #Archaeology

I've been an academic, and I often put my papers on reasearchgate as a way of making them accessible even if there is a paywall on the original publication. You can check the citation to make sure they really are from peer reviewed journals. Same goes for academia, though it's annoyingly spammy

Same here, never understood why it was gender segregated. There weren't enough female fencers where I lived for a women's league so I just competed with the men, never felt I had a disadvantage.

Impressively the island from Lost has only been hit by 10% tariffs, however the 44% tariffs on Atlantis may just be enough to sink it.
