I’m really at a loss here, and honestly, I just need to vent for a moment. Back in February, I purchased an MSI 5080 Gaming Trio, but there’s a serious issue: the GPU is missing 8 Raster Operation Pipelines (ROPs), which means it will never perform as well as a normal 5080. This has been incredibly frustrating, especially given how much I paid for it. I’ve tried reaching out to Best Buy customer support, but the whole experience has left me feeling more hopeless than anything else. I reached out through the only available channel—online customer service—and while the agents were polite and seemed eager to help, nothing productive has come of it. My primary issue is that I don’t want a refund; I just want to exchange the defective GPU for a working one. The support agents initially told me I could swap it out locally, but I know there’s no availability. They then promised to ship me a new one, and I could return the old one. But that’s where the communication stopped, and all I’ve received is a return label for a refund, which is not what I want. I even offered to have a hold placed on my card until the replacement arrives so that I wouldn’t have to pay for two GPUs, but I’ve heard nothing back on that. I’ve called multiple times, and each time, I’m reassured that the situation will be resolved without causing me too much downtime. But this is the only GPU I have, and every moment spent without it is a setback. The worst part is that even if I try to RMA through MSI, I’ve heard from others that MSI has been issuing refunds instead of replacements, which leaves me worried that I’ll just end up with no GPU at all. The whole issue with a refund is the cost is going up on every model, I should not have to pay more for the same product. I’m really just trying to find someone at Best Buy who can actually help me—someone who can facilitate the exchange I was promised, or at least give me the support I was expecting when I first reached out. Hey I just recently bought a 5080 MSI gaming Trio on a recent drop. I am effected by the missing RoPs. This is the only GPU i have and I use it for work and entertainment. What should I do to resolve this?
