WINTER IN AMHERSTBURG - Snow has been falling all day in Amherstburg and people have been busy shoveling, road crews clearing the streets, drivers trying to navigate the roads but some taking advantage of the weather and having some fun.

SMALL TOWN, BIG INDUSTRY — The Marsh Historical Collection unveiled its new “Small Town, Big Industry” exhibit. An opening reception was held Jan. 23 at the Gibson Gallery in #Amherstburg with the exhibit running at the gallery weekends from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. through Feb. 22.

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT — Essex County and Windsor are included in a special weather statement from Environment Canada due to the snow in in forecast for Sunday, Jan. 25. Snowfall amounts of 10-20 cm are anticipated. Locally higher amounts are possible. Lake enhancement may occur in some areas.

CONSERVATION AWARDS — The Essex Region Conservation Authority held its Conservation Awards Jan. 22. #Amherstburg Councillor Molly Allaire was re-acclaimed as chair. ERCA CAO Tim Byrne was honoured for 40 years of service.

Admirals travel to Walpole Island tonight and win 5-1. Zach Vaillancourt with two goals for #Amherstburg. Brett Jones, Luka Milsosevic and Finnigan Russett with the other goals for the Admirals.
