Stalled Road Construction on Fisher/McCooey

Per contractor: there is a design conflict with an existing Hydro duct. The Fed Govt is working with Hydro Ottawa on a modified design. Construction expected November 3.
Both lanes are open to traffic.

Due to water infrastructure repairs near 1556 Apeldoorn Ave (between Meadowlands and Normandy) households may experience interruptions in water service.

Water service is expected to be restored by 10pm.

The City is installing a new crosswalk across Paul Anka Drive approx 160m west of the Paul Anka / McCarthy intersection.

This area has a high volume of pedestrians crossing the road to access McCarthy Park and the community centre.

A new rain garden at the Carleton Heights Comm Centre was installed last Friday.

This morning, the Mayor and I welcomed the Minister of Sport, MPP Neil Lumsden to Carlington to announce an $8 million investment in our community to expand and renovate the Alexander Community Centre.
Final design consultation is expected this calendar year. Shovels will go in the ground in 2026.

LRT Line 1 will be closed and full R1 service will run this weekend (Oct 4 & 5) while RTM performs planned maintenance work on the system.
R1 bus service will run between Tunney’s Pasture & Blair stations during normal hours of operation.

Btwn Sept 26 & Oct 2, Rideau Transit Maintenance will be conducting work on O-Train Line 1. This work will require adjustments to evening Line 1 service, including an early closure of Line 1 on Sept 26 & multiple nights where service will be limited to one platform at certain stations after 11:30pm.
