Living in a Victorian house, I was always told to open the windows every morning, as the air outside is always drier than the air inside a bedroom - even when it’s raining! Blast fresh air through the house and then close the windows again if it’s cold.

If a home is badly constructed, that’s a different matter, but simple condensation can largely be avoided by adequate ventilation.

I so disagree with this. Houses need ventilation, & tenants who close every window, block every trickle vent & then complain of condensation have only themselves to blame.
First thing to do every morning is open fan lights & get fresh air through the bedrooms - that’s on top of the trickle vents.

I feel confused about this too. There seems to be a pile-on, with no clear explanation of what was originally said.
I’m reluctant to jump to conclusions without hearing both sides.
