Phishing sims remain a cornerstone of many security programs. A new IEEE S&P 2025 paper shows most users will eventually click, and training only helps at the margins. Maybe filtering, detection, and response should carry more weight - awareness as support, not driver. Still worth it?

TAK with Meshtastic is pretty neat. Live maps and team tracking off the grid, even on a Raspberry Pi. Could be handy for hiking or disaster stuff. #offgrid #meshtastic #situationalawareness #tak

Secret Service disrupted an illegal telecom network in NYC. The setup could send 30M texts per min, enough to crash towers & 911. Linked to foreign govs, organized crime & trafficking. So - is this the start? #CyberThreat #TelecomSecurity

Quality is the currency of credibility. Without it, trust disappears. And in security, trust is everything: confidentiality, integrity, availability – all built on quality.

Checking out Meshtastic, open-source mesh radios that work without cell towers or internet. Feels like something Norway really needs with our mountains, forests & storms. Or at least nurture my nerdy side.

Strangely enough, today was the first time I truly connected with Pearl Jam. I’ve listened to their music off and on over the years, but for some reason, it finally clicked today. Hmmmm, interesting.

For those politely asking whats the status of my threathunt book project, here's a quick update: I'll return to add content shortly. Been busy for the past months due to changing jobs internally at work and taking care of my corgi dog due to him having a back prolapse. He's up and walking now!

Just read another "protect your data from hackers" article. Cool. But what about the XX years of digital breadcrumbs we’ve already spilled all over the internet? No advice for that? Great. Thanks.

Time flies. Already three weeks since corgi dog had a back prolapse and had to be rushed to the nearest animal hospital some 3 hours drive away. Been busy training him after the operation - luckily he's recovering fast and are now able to walk somewhat normally. #corgi

I am a bit sceptic when it comes to books and classes on SOC stating "for this situation, solve it THIS way". Not to point a finger at someone, but, not all situations are 100% the same.

Now this is fascinating on a Sunday: #AREDN (Amateur Radio Emergency Data Network). A high-speed, self-healing mesh network built by ham radio operators for emergency comms. It auto-connects with nearby nodes to create a resilient, decentralized web. Nice!

Celebrating easter eating some #mämmi with cream. This is a traditional #Finnish dessert made of water, rye flour, ground malted rye, salt, and dried, ground orange zest. Obtained a packet from #Fazer brand whilst shopping in Sweeden today. Have eaten it several times before. I like it it a lot!

Cybersecurity today in one image: the experienced dog shows off a yo-yo (aka XDR), asks the junior if they want to try, and immediately drops it in their lap with zero instructions, documentation, or context. ‘Cool tool. Good luck.’

This week's hot topic seems to be that one should have an exit strategy in case American technology becomes illegal. I’m really wondering what an exit would entail since everything we use is American tech - Azure, AWS, GCP, and also SIEM, XDR, firewalls. What is the real alternative, if I may ask?

I've been reviewing some online security training portals lately for potential use in training sessions. Surprising how many lack proper source references and a structured, progressive learning approach. Not calling out any by name, but it's a bit disappointing...
