I don’t think it is the only, but definitely one of very few that taxes non-resident citizens and their foreign income.

Very few Brits pay someone to do their taxes. Adding to the complexity is that the UK tax year is April to March.

FACTA makes financial life hard in big countries too.

Don’t need to be rich, don’t even have had to live in the US as an adult. US rules make it hard to be a dual citizen abroad.

It is possible, but neither cheap nor easy. I bet there is a much larger contingent that wants to but can’t, than has done so successfully.

That are dual citizens abroad that would celebrate the passing of this bill if it meant a shortcut to no longer being a US citizen.

It’s a matter of trade offs, but depending where you live and where you work, you really don’t need a car. I’m so happy to live in a major town/city centre.
If you can afford to live in a city centre, then you can survive without owning a car.

I had 2 sisters in my year at school, 11 months apart. Essentially the oldest and the youngest in the class. It must be harder than twins to have a gap like that.

Probably should have attacked council tax head on.

We had to use the Bakerloo last weekend for the first time in a long time. The Horror.

I think the phrase is ‘Blame Canada’ and something about beady eyes.

My memory is that the Spawn soundtrack is exceptional.

True. My comments assumed an average 8-5 M-F job which is definitely not what everybody does.
However, your standby job is hopefully suitable to be done at home surrounded by jigsaw puzzles, cheese and wine.

2030 we will still be finding them, possibly longer for the simple stripes on the pavement to space out queues.

Nope, always save 3 days of vacation for Christmas week. No matter which day Christmas falls, 3 vacation days will always get you 8 days off. (If the 26th is a public holiday where you live.)
