I *really* wouldn't have wanted to be a pedestrian in front of a Tesla while the lights are out.

I suspect the main reason Teslas didn't fail is they are legally mandated to have a driver in them. So there is only a single class of autonomous vehicles to observe in the wild.

Unless you're saying those systems generate so much data that they require off board processing..?

LiDAR and Radar have nothing to do with remote operation. Completely separate topics.

Separately: I'm pretty sure "Supervised FSD" is the new legally compliant term for Tesla's bullshit nowadays. At least in California where they got sued.

How is LiDAR related? Make it make sense.

In the dark, it can be really hard to tell it's a Waymo that's stuck instead of a driver waiting for his turn.

This made things.. much more frustrating. And broad frustration and impatience in the driver population I'm *sure* contributed to collisions.

I drove through much of the city yesterday. Intersections were the only place Waymos were stranded. They congregated at them.

I counted 5-6 at a single intersection. Many others had 1-3.

Some had hazards on (good; looks like a disabled vehicle).

Most just had a left turn signal on.

Is a PG&E blackout even an edge case?

Counted at least one dozen, possibly up to two of frozen cars blocking intersections. @waymo.bsky.social needs to figure how to *quickly & safely* wind down service in these situations.

Every driver in SF now hates you.

@pornhub.com would you care to comment on why the data was available for stealing in the first place??

What exactly does it say about me?

Seems to only be happening in my Arc browser, not my Chrome. Clearing all cookies and cache did not help.

As a result, I've switched to wireless charging exclusively; pack it in my suitcase when traveling. Because the wall charger alone will just pretend to work, and then slip out.

For me, it's usually pocket lint. If I get in there with a needle, I can usually make the connection work again. But the lint builds up to the point where the plug isn't fully inserted by a portion of a mm.

There is a strong element of pre-crime at play. They are trying to arrest people who *look like* they might do crime. In the future.

And by look like, I mean racism.
