I love this! Gives me hope! I have been focused on shorter, slow reading due to current realities, but I love the idea of starting slow as cultivating a practice and building to more.

Brainstorming in class is a good idea. I am having them do in- class writing. I’m also going to try to work with them on an AI policy, which I think will help me understand better how they use it. There’s an extra level with teaching in French as they use it to translate & it’s very good now

Omg congrats Joe! A fun fact about me is that my bff and I dominated the all county HS social studies fair in 1989 with our original play written from perspective of Tom P’s housemaids. We still quote it.

Yes exactly. Imagine asking me to prove the opposite: why did X female writer wear corsets if JD did not? Like, I’m just trying to talk about this one person & I’m glad it’s making you think but…
(also I hate to break it to them about some of these other 19th c pants-wearers !)
