When I took basic Buddhist vows back in 1997 at Kagyu Samye Ling Tibetan Buddhist centre, I was given the Tibetan name Karma Gyalpo. Karma, unrelated to the Sanskrit word of the same spelling, means star. I love the name because I have a lifelong interest in astronomy.
