I'm interested in what you mean by more nuanced. Apple has bent over backwards placating trump and avoiding his ire. It seems pretty clear that the cancellation was part of that campaign.

I didn't say they could break encryption, I meant they could unlock your phone. In the San Bernardino case Apple *refused* to unlock a phone. Not couldn't do it, refused to do it.
It's naive to believe that Apple doesn't have enhanced access to their devices.

Not a surprise, but it shows Apple products are doing the same thing as everyone else.

Yes their options were limited & that’s my point. When pushed, Apple will give whatever this admin wants, including your data. Encrypted or not, Apple can crack your security.

Apple products are my daily driver but I know they aren’t looking out for my best interests vs their profit.

Here’s a more recent article with Apple sending information to third parties. Odd are there are government agencies that are getting that 3rd party data. No request required.

You can’t say there’s zero evidence. We both know that they killed the show specifically to avoid making the orange man mad.

They have also pulled apps like IceBlock and TV shows with minimal and sometimes zero pressure.

Don’t get me wrong, Apple is still the best option for many things. But they are not your friend and will continue to bow down to this regime.

You’re right about google, x, and meta, but Apple will also sell you out in a hot minute if the regime tells them too.

I don’t get why you keep giving Apple a pass. You have great statements on the current political climate but when it comes to Apple you turn into Karoline Leavitt.

Steermouse is your friend.

Naw, they don’t want take a chance against someone that can actually fight back. They’ll stick with bullying children and pregnant women.

Saying it promotes groupthink is a bit silly. ALL social media promote a level of groupthink as users tend to interact with those of like mindsets.
This doesn’t mean that the users have a unitary opinion or can’t discuss and evolve new ideas.

I have a couple of Jackery products and they work well.

I do wish they would provide APIs so that you could integrate them into Home Assistant. Because their app leaves a lot to be desired.

All of the taxes you’ve paid and will continue to pay over your entire life are not enough to cover even half of the price of a single bomb dropped on Venezuela.

Why not people have been drinking “alkaline” water, “vitamin” water and water full of electrolytes that they don’t need. Making expensive and useless water is an American pastime!

Idiocracy was sooo on point! lol

Home full some State charges can be filed on these dirtbags.

There’s also the possibility that trump gets mad and pulls a pardon or that they can somehow be rendered null and void.

What a sweet tribute from Erika! They look just like the muzzle flash Charlie saw moments before he exsanguinated on stage.

They don’t have anyone in that circle with the balls to anything close to the 25th. It’s sycophants and cowards all the way down.

Because they’re also heavily invested in Chinese restaurants?

Exactly. To steal another saying: The best time to start developing UHC was 40 years ago. The second best time is today.

Especially since there are a lot of other plans out there to evaluate and use as a starting point.

The stuff coming out today is simply nauseating.

Charging them will do nothing. They already have pardons for everything they are doing and will do for the rest of the corrupt administration.
December 24, 2025 at 7:12 PM
“Playing by the rules” does not preclude speaking out publicly against corruption and illegal acts.

Also “the rules” are no longer a factory when one side can flaunt or just change them at will.

A new war requires new tactics.
