The doctors described my condition at birth as like being born with pneumonia. I spent my first couple of weeks in the NICU. Two of my older brothers had the same condition and died as newborns because my parents did not live near enough to a hospital with advanced neonatal care at that time.

When Trump was elected in 2016, my then 7-year-old son‘s first reaction was to worry about his friend who had an immigrant father. I didn’t realize how much he had understood about Trump’s intentions.

My dad worked well into his 70s. At the end of his life, my parents' social security benefits were so small that they couldn't rent a tiny apartment without financial assistance from their children.

Typical nonsense that gets passed around in conservative circles. If I remember correctly, the Romans had no qualms about raping both girls and boys, so baby boys would have been just as "useful" as the girls.
