The new free exhibition at Lambeth Archives looks at the ambitious world of Ted Hollamby's Department of Architecture and Planning, 1965-1980. Modernism, the future and architectural merit, open until the 26th.
A futuristic model of Lambeth with sweeping clean lines - the future as seen in the past of Waterloo.

Pleasure, thoroughly enjoyed it. Good to shine a bit of extra light on George Le Brunn’s music hall composing career, and his life in and around Brixton. Looking forward to more delving in BMHS archive in future too and not just Le Brunn’s song sheet collection

Building ‘Homes for Tomorrow’: Lambeth’s Council Housing, 1965 to 1980
The exhibition uses original architect’s models, archival documents and images and oral history to explain the planning context and to explore and celebrate Hollamby’s architectural legacy for Lambeth...

I was there too. Maybe we met. Fascinating exhibition. Christiane’s research is so important in telling the more depth story of Hollamby’s developments in Lambeth, the work of his team and local resistance. Fantastic that new materials will be deposited at Lambeth Archives
