Things are VASTLY better this morning. MRI was done overnight, breathing tube was removed, she’s awake and mostly her usual self. She’s been up to walk around the bed. Resident has even suggested we might be looking at discharge as early as tomorrow!

We've been in to see her, and MK is taking the first overnight shift while I try to get some real sleep at home. I'll make updates in this thread as we have them.

Thank you. I’d played this on my PC before, and it is exactly what I needed on my phone today.

As do I! 🤣 Your ankle seems to have it in for you.

You seem to have that backward. 😕

Damn, yeah… that would be an interesting analysis but an absolute TON of work to get through all of that, even if set aside how unpleasant the content itself will be.

I’m sorry, *what*?!?!
Do they not realize how asinine that sounds?

Huh. The classes that really left an impression were mostly not in my primary major. Impressive considering how hard I gamed the system to avoid anything that involved writing.

Fundamentals of Geometry
Computer & Microprocessor Laboratory
Dynamic Systems
Systems Programming
Models of Computation

Dude’s not elected, so he has a constituency of precisely one person.

This is completely insane.

Good.
January 26, 2026 at 6:35 PM
Because plenty of folks have it worse than us right now, and my daughter’s future is gonna be pretty fucking bleak ANYWAY if this keeps up.

Fuck cancer, and fuck ICE.
January 25, 2026 at 4:08 PM
Actually, I suppose there is one thing people can do: Get on the phone to Schumer and Gillibrand (or whoever your senators are) and tell them to reject ANY spending bill that funds ICE. As I have seen elseweb: The solution to the Gestapo is not more training.

Folks usually ask "Is there anything I can do?" My current reply is "Hell, there isn't anything *I* can do." Possibly after the surgery we'll want a few things - I won't be shy about asking.

Surgeon says it should be straightforward again - possibly even easier than last time, since the tumor is smaller. Probably 4-5 days in the hospital and then up to two months of ambulatory recovery with some OT/PT for possible balance/vision issues.
