Plenty of places on the east side of the country, highly recommend Michigan, the lakes frozen for the winter are pretty, but I wouldn't recommend walking on them. (Don't ask me how.)
Alternatively, I do actively live in Virginia, plenty of museums and stuff here worth a visit, Air and Space!
