Love history, sport, music, and science fiction. Happily married with two great kids. Ex-Royal Navy. My motto in life is Dum Spiro Spero.
Wow, it ended in 1983. I remember it so well as a kid.

Well you know what they say, "you have to take the rough with the smooth".

Glad it was saved from demolition in the 90's. Definitely a landmark.

Not sure where you stand on Sci-Fi and Star Wars in particular but if you do like it then Andor is absolutely superb.

Slightly confused. Where does Coronation Chicken sit on the patriotic food scale?

The bulk of the system was destroyed during blitz on Bristol in 1941 and never reconstructed following the end of the war.

I know a lot of people have been complaining that the writing on Doctor Who has gone down hill but I think I'd prefer a script containing the Daleks.

I can't wait until we get Anthology 12 where we finally get to hear that chair squeak at the end of A Day in the Life isolated and in Dolby Atmos plus, as a bonus, they'll include a remixed version of Ringo's fart from the Saville Row Get Back Sessions.

While Come Dancing is a top, top tune, it doesn't quite fulfill the "All original members present and correct" criteria. While Ray, Dave and Mick are all in attendance, original bassist (and part inspiration for the song "Days") Pete Quaife left the band in 1969.

Took my copy down to the recording of the last Eggpod live. I was going to get Mr Q to sign it, walked almost up to him and bottled it. Mentioned this on line. He sent me his address and said send it down I'll sign it. Dropped my phone a few weeks later, smashed the screen and lost all the data. 🤣

Would go up there to visit the joke shop across the road at the top. I'd probably have a coronary half way up if I tried it today. 🤣

A good mate of mine works on her as one of the officers of the day. It was his last job as a Chief in the RN. He left for a few years then came back as a full time reservist. He has some stories to tell about the strange noises you hear during night time rounds of the ship.
