Yeah idk tbh. Maybe will get some info in the press release later but I doubt it. Def concerning. Really wanted him to stack some wins here early because the rest of his season is gonna be extremely hard to get wins. Plus he isn’t doing any stage races really until Suisse and vuelta unlike last year

But for real I still believe in him and his positioning skills. But this race has been an utter disaster to say the least

So much for his great positioning skills lol

My delusional Visma fan in me is also hoping that the Jorg and Brennan extensions is also where the money went the last few transfers periods and next year they’ll be back to pursing the best riders on the market. Because you have to remember those two extensions had to be really expensive.

I’d agree. I think there lack of aggressively going after top riders on the market is concerning. If they don’t have the money to out bid other teams your relying on your devo team massively to produce winning riders . Which puts a ton of pressure on your younger guys to preform right away.

Wish me Luck!

I agree. How much is there going to be for Brennan and WVA. I also thought with fiorelli doing giro I thought Brennan Giro was likely plus practice for 27 TDF. It does lead alot of one weeks with no leader which is concerning. Even more considering last season when that happened they didn’t do much.
January 13, 2026 at 3:27 PM
Yeah I like that team. I think for the 8th all rounder I’d do hagens. Good in the cold/wet and positioning. Can climb and also ride the flat and I think he also pairs really well with Brennan. Can survive climbs or pace climbs hard and can also lead out with fiorelli?
January 9, 2026 at 9:32 PM
I thought about Tulett too but I’d expect him to do TDF now and idk if Giro TdF is too much. Plus I’d expect Ardennes for him. Thought about Nordhagen as well but that’s relying on two young guy shredding for Jonas. You have Wilco too but him and Giro scares me plus he hasn’t been climbing as well

Yes now in trying to think about the Giro roster and I came up with this. Jonas, Brennan, fiorelli, hagens, affini, Piganzoli, Kruijswijk?, Lemmen? But I don’t think that’s enough climbing or support for Jonas? Thing is I’d expect both sepp and jorg doing TDF vuleta double.

Yes. Sorry I didn’t reply sooner. Glad you found it! I’m too very excited for Jonas Brennan combo. I think them trying this in the Giro is also a test for Brennan going to the TDF when it starts in Britain.

Yes but Olav won a large portion of those. And then Axel, Laporte, Tulett, Jorgensen all only won once or twice. I’m not trying to argue or anything.I think it should be a priority to get more riders who can multiple races consistently. Who knows maybe these guys will step up which wouldn’t be great
January 7, 2026 at 7:24 PM
Just saying I hope it’s a priority to sign more young guys who can punch and win races in the future. And I think the team would agree with that. They are kind of in a transitional period with a lot of young riders and then older riders as well. So you can see they r trying to look at the future.
January 7, 2026 at 7:14 PM
Alpecin have MVDP, Groves, and Philipsen. All who win a ton. I’m not trying to dismiss what you’re saying. I’m just saying these top 4-5 teams r all getting more riders who can win consistently over Visma. And I’m unsure about Visma in stage hunting that’s all.
January 7, 2026 at 7:13 PM
That the team will go stage hunting because we haven’t really seen them do that. I think Redbull, trek, alpecin all have more consistent riders who win and that’s only 4 teams but Visma want to be the best team so they have to acquire more talent and punchy/ sprinters who can win races.
January 7, 2026 at 6:52 PM
I’d disagree. That’s only 4 riders and I’d argue Jorgensen isn’t a consistent winner. I love Jorgensen but he’s only won one race a year. Plus van aert is injured and Laporte is coming back after missing a full season at age 33. I’d agree with your stage hunting comment I’m just not convinced
January 7, 2026 at 6:49 PM
Def a little nerve racking how much they rely on Jonas. They just don’t have a lot of depth or riders who can win consistently behind him. Think that should be a big focus next year in the transfer signings and development team. And I wouldn’t expect Nordhagen, or Piganzoli to win next year.
