Turns out very high respect for the stop bar here this afternoon. Came expecting the worst, but I love to be proven wrong!

White Chevy Tahoe respects the stop bar, nice! That make of car was voted least likely to honor the stop bar in my superlative imagination

Hard to see in the picture but stop bar for left turn is shorter than through lane (for bus turning movements onto cedar). About 50% over the line there bud

But the wolves/Lakers game started at 2:30 Central? That's local tip for the game, it was 12:30 for the away fans watching us howl at home #wolves

This oped on the bill gave me pause though because there are serious speed problems with our most expensive transit option. Switching to BRT for this alignment solves only for cost, not for speed. Time for bold legislation to encourage grade separated rail to solve for the real problem: speed
A timely time-out for the Blue Line Extension
The dynamics of this light-rail project as now proposed are just not favorable.

Congestion pricing revenues go towards MTA projects. Demand on the transit system is different than demand on the roadway system - people walking or queueing for MTA trains do not spew GHG into their neighbors faces.

Take that energy and use it on the billions lost in productivity, negative health outcomes, and death that occurs on NYC roadways resulting from abuse and overuse by single-occupant vehicles.

MTA has already filed suit and has a strong case against this flimsy argument. Not ideal, but cutting out a route from tunnels to FDR or Westside Hwy affords drivers a way to navigate around congestion pricing if "just passing through"*

The thick black lines on the NY Functional Class Roads map are the Interstates (federal-aid hwys). The argument they are making relies on the slim spurs of interstates to/from Holland, Midtown Tunnel, Bklyn Battery Tunnel. Westside Hwy and FDR are federal-aid hwys and already excluded from the zone.

Hi Matt! @aaronrosenthal.bsky.social hates laughing and fun so don't ask him. Here's my favorite all-time. Blood packets have been a multi-decade mainstay on SNL because of this skit I think :)

Thanks. I am inspired by stories of Americans in the past recognizing how prosperous we were becoming and having a simple conclusion; let's build the most prosperous society we can together. We have been contorted for years that it's "complicated". I don't think so.
