Instead of asking why you assumed my intentions. You assumed I was the type that picks moves apart for the sake of doing so. I have issues with suspending disbelief due to being on the spectrum. That and a limited income makes me picky about how I spend my cash.

It's more like my suspension of disbelief is fucked because I know too much about how things work. I mean if it was advertised a sci-fantasy then that would be different. But I hear it's a hard or semihard sci-fi. Now if you're going to keep being snarky at me then don't bother replying.

So... how is he getting to another star within a relative short time? Keep in mind, the best we got now is getting to Pluto in about 9.5 years.

Something like this would be a thing in my ttrpg fantasy world. Flying Carpet is a temporary enchantment that makes any piece of cloth into a flying surface. I can see a group of young spell casters ridding though the city like this.
