I'm sorry you feel like that. I'm also 74 but feel the opposite! I remember being worried as a small boy at the time of Cuba and the Bay of Pigs (though didn't understand the detail obvs). I was more worried then. Am optimistic about the future and hoping this government can achieve what it intends.

Extraordinary! Do his constituents know this. Him being parachuted into Durham was a reason I didn't vote Labour last time.

Also they need a gardening columnist who knows something about gardens! In the past they've had great ones like Vita Sackville West, Dan Pearson, Monty Don. This one is a novelist not a gardener.
