I feel like this is a metaphor.

I'm not quite sure what for, but I'm sure one day I'm going to hear some news story, and remember this and be like, "ohhhh..."

I loved Sega Channel. My brother and I spent many hours playing Road Rash. It still blows my mind that Sega was able to get cable providers to implement this.

what is wrong with you

I dunno man UHC works in all the other developed nations.

Plus, respectfully, what the hell are you on about? You already have to see a primary before a specialist. Literally how private insurance works now.

On further reflection, it's very possible that even if Dems hadn't caved, there was no way GOP was ever going to agree to extend ACA subsidies. Even in the face of huge election losses and constituent suffering.
December 11, 2025 at 8:33 PM
Instead it was a waste of time, proving only that Dem leadership has no spine, and signaling to GOP they can walk all over Dems (and the American people).

Great job, everyone, round of applause.
December 11, 2025 at 8:14 PM
Shutdown was only worth going on for so long so that Dems had some leverage to make real legislative impact. But they gave it up for nothing. They could've forced the GOP's hand to include ACA subsidies if they'd have just stuck with it. Momentum was on Dems' side; it would've worked.
December 11, 2025 at 8:14 PM
So...Democrats gave up essentially the ONLY leverage they had, despite being on the heels of election results that massively repudiated Republicans. GOP got everything they wanted.

It's going to be too heavy, isn't it?

I may have to hollow out parts with my Dremel after I get a good cast. Ahhh...one more thing to worry about.
December 7, 2025 at 3:18 AM
I'm more concerned about phase two: When I try to cast it in pewter.

Because I've never done *any* casting before.

But I watched a bunch of YouTube videos. I think I can do this.

One step at a time though, sculpt first.

Though there is an argument to be made that the '90s ended with 9/11, and the 2000s started the next day.
December 6, 2025 at 8:21 PM
For me:
'80s = my childhood up until just before I moved, so '79-'91.

'90s = last 2 years of Junior High/High School/College, '92-'02.

2000s = Post-college until I moved to Wyoming, '02-'13.

2010s = from 2013 through 2019. AKA "like last year"

2020s = everything Covid & after. Not a fan so far.

Hopefully, since they're going to all the trouble to remaster the original 1977 version, they can release it on 4K Blu-Ray, and then I won't have to rely on that...nothing. I don't have anything.😬

I love this show!! We got to watch a few episodes in one of my college classes for some reason. That was 20+ years ago. I can't remember which class...but I remember the show!

If Santa survives, Trump will deport him to some random hostile country.

Unless Santa agrees to sell the US government a 40% stake in his toy business and license his flying tech to Elon Musk, in which case Trump will pardon Santa instead.
