BREAKING: DHS Secretary Kristi Noem stares down army of Antifa and a guy in a chicken suit from the rooftop of the ICE facility here in Portland.
Noem says:
"Hey; Guy in the chicken suit. You can do better.
Too bad they are uneducated and ill-informed."
Noem isn't chicken: [chicken emoji] A view from the roof of the building. There are about 15-20 people visible in total, several of whom appear to be reporters. Most are holding signs. They aren’t even taking up the whole sidewalk. One guy is wearing a chicken suit.

When Noem appeared on the roof of the Portland ICE facility, flanked by influencers and DHS hype video makers, the protesters below tried to spoil her photo-op in the "war ravaged" city by blaring the Benny Hill theme.

NEW from me:

CBS News staffers literally rolled their eyes after new editor-in-chief Bari Weiss delivered a "cringey" rallying cry during today's editorial call, exclaiming: "Let's do the fucking news!"

"She's cosplaying as a broadcast journalist," one said.

This really makes it sound like a Border Patrol agent tried to kill an anti-ICE activist in Chicago and DHS lied to cover for him

Russian media report that drones attacked Nizhny Novgorod and Dzerzhinsk in Russia. Locals heard at least 15 explosions during the night. It was also loud in Nizhny Novgorod. Temporary restrictions on the arrival and departure of aircraft were introduced at the airport.

This video is one of the things I’ve seen in the last little while that’s given me most optimism about the future of the United States.

This video of Chicagoans intervening to save a man from being abducted off the streets by ICE is making the rounds on Instagram.

Community action works.

"A clear visual clue that the photograph was not taken in Portland was that the first officer’s shield is marked 'Policia', the Spanish or Portuguese word for police."

As you can see, I had to use cutting edge #OSINT techniques for this one.

The Oregon Republican Party tried to help Donald Trump make the case for military intervention in Portland with an image of a fiery protest — but since Portland is calm, they had to fabricate one by merging old photos of police in Ecuador and protesters in Brazil www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

It’s important to flood social media and news channels with news about how ICE lies, so that potential jurors see it.

i want to remind people that the free press does not publish "journalism" in the way that someone who works in an actual newsroom would understand it

Oregon Republicans know they can't use an image of the actual (small, tame) protest in Portland to illustrate Trump's fever dream and their fake intel, so they had to make one from stock photos of South American "Policia" leaning on riot shields + what looks like Brazilian football fans with flares

perhaps the biggest story TFPever ran was a catastrophically shoddy argument that George Floyd ackshully died of an overdose. When confronted with irrefutable evidence that the piece was simply wrong, Weiss didn’t take it down, she asked her critic, @radleybalko.bsky.social, to come on a podcast.

American cities, for all their flaws, present an actually existing, multicultural alternative to MAGA's small, hateful and indeed adolescent worldview. And that is why Trump is going to war with them. www.salon.com/2025/10/02/t...
Trump's war on cities is part of his ugly vision for America
The U.S. president is declaring war on cities because they represent a positive, multicultural alternative to MAGA.

“Oregon Republicans cheer the arrival of armed troops from California” is not a headline anyone before 2024 would have ever thought imaginable.

President Trump on Sunday deployed 300 California National Guard troops to Portland, Oregon after a judge ruled that the Oregon National Guard could not be deployed to keep federal facilities and personnel in Portland safe.
"Our intelligence indicates that these people are organized, they're getting more and more people on their team, as far as attacking officers, and they're making plans to ambush them and to kill them. We have specific officers and agents that have bounties that have been put out on their heads. It's about $2,000 to kidnap them, $10,000 to kill them." #stoptheriots #DomesticTerrorists
