In 2025 Auckland had the two most-anomalously warm days on record, 27 November (7.2 ºC above the November average) and 4 July (6.6 ºC above the July average).

To be 7.2 ºC above average is quite remarkable as >5 ºC has only been reach 67 times since 1962 and >6 ºC 7 times.

That is a low-demand period.

Looks like 2025 will come in close to 2021. Auckland was particularly hot in 2025, nearly a full 1 ºC above its 2000-2019 average (cf. 0.5 ºC in most other places about 0.5 ºC)

Yes, it does suggest a shift in the market like a growth in tourism from Australia & falls elsewhere. Extra context – the Queenstown Lakes district has a goal of net zero tourism emissions by 2030, including international aviation. I'm not sure what they have done about it, if anything.
