It’s National Adoption Month. As an adopted kid, my feelings are complicated. I have four parents, and all of them have passed away. They all shape me and who I am in their own way. I remember as a child being told by adults that my parents shouldn’t have adopted me.

Even a US Senator isn’t safe from this administration’s reckless behavior. Trump only cares about his own power and is willing to take down any American standing in his way. We all must continue to stand up to him and his cronies.
Alderman Jeanette Taylor is an absolute warrior for her constituents. And like me, she started out as a community organizer, fighting for resources for public schools, affordable housing and more resources for the South Side. I’m incredibly grateful to have her support and guidance.
