1/ A thorough survey of how Trump and the GOP are brazenly trying to rig the upcoming elections, which they fear they will lose in a fair fight. It’s all right out of the fascist playbook.

Trump REALLY hates having the stain of felony convictions on his record, and can't even hide it. Now he has the DOJ—which he treats like his personal law firm—spending taxpayer dollars trying to get those 34 (count 'em) felony convictions overturned.
Appeals court revives Trump's effort to remove hush money case to federal court
An appeals court has ordered a lower court to revisit whether President Trump's criminal hush money prosecution in Manhattan deserved to be heard in federal court.

1/ Is it justifiable for a newspaper to run a headline like this, given the Trump administration's history of broken promises, howling incompetence, and outright lies?

TFW you realize that the neo-Nazi lobbying group you've been working for is neo-Nazi.

1/ I posted the other day about the indefensible cuts that the new Bari Weiss-led CBS News made to Trump’s 60 Minutes interview in order to remove incendiary remarks and make him come across better. Now there is reporting that Trump had a hand in dictating those cuts.

1/ One of the things that was striking about this past Tuesday's election was how NORMAL it felt: a reminder of the Before Times, when there was some sanity in play, when we were confident that the election was relatively fair and not subject to (severe) interference by the ruling party

New on The King's Necktie: Nil nisi bonum, right? Well, not entirely.

Dick Cheney was the foremost player in leading the United States into the most disastrous and illegitimate war we ever fought, predicated on shameless lies. That changed me as a person and my politics profoundly and permanently.

Hugely encouraging night last night, to say the least. Zohran, Sherrill, Spanberger, and Prop 50 in Cali, among others.

Public disgust with Trump & GOP is clear as day. And they will now be even more afraid of elections—and more aggressive in trying to undermine them—than ever.

Let's keep it up.

Could Trump accidentally—emphasis on "accidentally"—bring about something good with his call for Republicans to end the filibuster?

Despite the short term benefits for the GOP, it would be an own goal that would hurt them—and benefit democracy—in the long run. (As I argue in RESISTING THE RIGHT.)
Trump wants Republicans to kill the filibuster. Great!
In the long run, it would be good for Democrats and democracy.
