Former Journalism Major Micro-Rant upcoming:

HEY JOURNOS!
• You're normalizing this.
• Don't.
• Semantic nuance won't save you when the fascists finally decide to *act* on their "press is the enemy of the people" propaganda.
• So, *while you can,* tell it like it is.
• <*exasperated exhale*>

"I did not think he would get this authoritarian this fast," said Mr. Stewart.

But we out here did, and said so.

Because we had a decade to observe him.

So Mr. Stewart was either hopelessly naive, or not very good at his job of observing stuff.

So I have very little use for Mr. Stewart any more.

These *monsters* are the kind of people who, if by some miracle they ever get put on trial somewhere, will say "I was just following orders."

And hopefully the response will be, "Go. To. Hell." (Paraphrased.)

Well, this is nonsense.

In addition to being performative assholery by a Cabinet-level official, this is in fact *a violation of the Geneva Convention*.

This shooter of dogs can *eff* right off.

I myself have not gone the 23AndMe route. What I already know about my extended family is entertainment enough.

But if you've used this tool ... um, read on.

Mr. Sullivan, who originally supported the 2003 US invasion of Iraq, needs to be reminded that the last person who did all that was in fact George *W. Bush*.

From the Dept. of Now, A Warning?!:

You can either represent your constituents
OR
you can support President Musk and Vice President Trump's illegal and immoral activities.

Pick a team.

P.S. I fixed this identifier for ya. In case people want to vote you out, next time around.

Sixteen years.

Wish I could hear his reactions to the world's current crazy;
but not so much that I'd wish him to actually have to see it all.

Last night's Nashoba Valley Concert Band rehearsal saw the triumphant post-medical return of one John Blackwell.
John conducted the NVCB for 20 years, and afterward became a playing member, which is not an easy game to play.
For my money: all's right with the world -- or that little corner of it. 🙂

Ohhh, Justice Roberts.

From the Dept. of Dangedest Theatre Moments You'll See:

Last night, in the #MaynardHighSchoolTheatreCompany 's opening night of "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels", two cast members stepped up and rescued our flu-ridden lead.

Another show tonight 7pm, & Sunday 2pm. Come see what else will happen...? :)

This was the audience for Maynard HS's "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" dress rehearsal last night.

They were clearly rapt.

You will be too. #tonight #openingnight #tomorrowandsundaytoo

The Maynard HS Theatre Company's production of #DirtyRottenScoundrels opens tomorrow night and could use an audience. (MHS sports is suddenly in the big playoff game, and that just wiped out half our ticket sales. 🙄 )

Come help us fill out the house! QR code in the graphic!

From the Firmly Against Needless Violence Dept.:

On Tuesday night, I briefly got all excited when Rep. Al Green interrupted the proceedings.

The last time somebody brandished a cane on the floor of the House of Representatives, somebody else got whacked with it.
