In Portugal's case the membership is free, and provides, among many things, access to visit the Federations training center, including watching training sessions, discounts on all gear in the "Portugal Store", a newsletter AND priority access to NT tickets at home/abroad...

Not to mention the training centers that were to be built (that were critical for post tournament legacy) are getting scaled back or canceled.
If going big isn't worth it, this is even less worth it. A waste, no?
