last Wednesday i performed & facilitated collective song at an event unlike any i'd played at before—an anarchist yom kippur ball in the streets.

a local reporter wrote of the event: “…when the voices of the assembled rose in song in the night air — the vibe was celestial.”

i'm inclined to agree!

i made $50 busking this afternoon—a personal record! that's before i gave $5 to a fellow madwoman who later told me eunuchs could help balance the sexes, as god wishes! 😵‍💫

it's hard being trans & hard being an artist & i just wish people could be less creepy about me existing in public.

anyway, as a liberation-oriented trans person, i'm not really invested in "rights" or "crime" as concepts. deferring to the state's judgment to determine ethical action bolsters fascism. each of us needs to exercise bodily autonomy in attunement with our values. US culture makes this very difficult!

if an employer or law enforcement officer had fired, arrested, or shot that guy for (non-threatening, off-the-clock) words, that would be a violation of free speech. when a random mf kills a rival at a public q&a, that's just good old fashioned murder.

free speech doesn't mean no one ever gets punched in the mouth (or shot in the neck) for spewing hateful propaganda—it means nobody's independent expressions should be punished by corporate or state agents specifically.
