This is a blatant attempt to keep poor people from voting. If a passport is required to vote, then it should be FREE and there should be enough well-trained federal staff to make the process quick and easy. The SAVE Act will keep poor people, the elderly, young people and the disabled from voting.

Friends have stated, "It's not that hard to get a passport, what's the problem?" The problem is... it is not a problem unless you are poor!

Then add transportation costs (bus fare) to acquire necessary documents etc. Not to mention the cost of childcare while you waste a day running around to complete this.

Then figure in the cost of losing a day of work to get in line at the post office if you don't have a computer or internet at home in order to do the online application.
