I'm old. I read. I know things. Tea drinker in a land awash in coffee. Owned by cats. Blue dot in a red state. Atheist. Married in Missouri. She/her
One of those "I could not have read what I think I just read" moments, which required me to reread the entire scene again. That doesn't happen to me very often.

Thank you for posting this. I had made a mental note about it, but it got buried under all the other mental notes! I should probably start writing stuff down! 📝

What can I say? Your books have been among some of the best parts of my year. There are only a handful of authors whose books I will buy without needing to see a synopsis. You are one of those authors.

☺️

You are welcome.

Your books always make my day, this one doubly so. Now to find something else to read that won’t feel thin and insipid after this one. Always a problem after one of your books. Maybe something completely different, such as horror.

I read that paragraph three times to make sure I wasn't hallucinating! Then I read it aloud to my husband since he couldn't find his glasses.

Oh, I've written my review also.

Robin's review of Don't Call Me Jonathan
5/5: This book cracked my heart open from the first paragraph. The pain bleeds off the page, both unsettlingly familiar and strangely new, as it coated my hands and dripped onto my lap. I cannot remem...

Just got to the Author's Note. The book already had me emotional, but that had me reaching for some tissues! Thank you. 😊

Downloaded! Haven't started it yet since I slept late. Despite the snow here in St. Louis, my PsA allowed me to get nearly nine hours of sleep! 💥🎊

Of course. That is the obvious spot.

Have they found a place that will host their Bathing In the Blood of the Innocent event?

This is one of those books I wish I could read again for the first time.

Bet she'd tell people that she's a proponent of small government, meaning no taxes, slashed public services, and little regulation of business, but with enough government left to micromanage others personal lives when they don't conform to her narrow, bigoted view of an acceptable life.

It's been 30 years since I read the book, but that is one thing that stuck with me. The relationship between Louis and Lestat is breathtakingly toxic. They shouldn't be allowed in the same country together, much less the same room.

I can hardly wait!

Books that make me cry are an automatic 5-star review for me.

If you're only going to read one haunted house short story this Spooky Season, make sure it is this one! I can't recommend it enough.

Anyone who says otherwise is not truly reading the stories. They are only skimming the surface.

That queerness is part of the appeal. Vampires can generally look and act human, but aren't bound by the strictures of human society. It is a glimpse of life on your own terms.

Sounds perfect!

Oh, I can hardly wait! I don't read tentacle romance very often. I save it for when I'm in the mood for something unhinged.

Not really my thing. But I once said the same thing about mpreg. Although, I only read the first one so I could review it after seeing a 1 star review based solely on a side character's use of they/them pronouns. One man getting another pregnant was fine, but OMG pronouns!

Bluesky has become my dealer for my book addiction. I follow so many authors on here that it's rare for me not to buy or pre-order at least a couple of books every time I scroll my feed! 😄 Now, I just need to figure out a way to keep reading from beyond the grave.
October 10, 2025 at 6:12 PM
This will be my reminder to double-check to make certain I actually pre-ordered a book instead of just thinking about it. If I hadn't seen this post, there's no telling how long it would have been before I realized my mistake.

Bought this today.

There are posts out there saying that we shouldn't support the Palestinians because the Palestinians don't support x, y, or z. That's BS. Regardless of someone else's political, social, and economic opinions, they still deserve to live and have basic human rights and dignity.

It is the perfect read for any time of year, but especially now as Halloween draws near! I know it is certainly one of my favorite books of 2025.

Can hardly wait to meet her!

A good first line can draw a reader in. However, if the rest of the lines don't live up to the promise, an author can lose the reader completely. Recently, I nearly DNF'd three books for just that reason. If they'd been any longer, I would have put them down unfinished.
