On the other hand, in the group stages England play Ghana and France play Senegal, so you've got some post-colonial match-ups there. DR Congo could still qualify, too, but sadly can't end up in Belgium's group

The text in the first photo? Not sure where you stand on LLMs, but Claude Opus 4.5 believes the sign in the first photo says "ALBON ENGINEERING COMP'Y", which presumably fits with your "Alson Engineering Company" that you found elsewhere

Last year Simon Willison wrote a piece which basically concluded "it's fine to just call it AI". He walked back a bit from it, or at least its tone, but I still broadly agree with it and it made me comfortable using the term "AI" when writing about LLMs/gen-AI: simonwillison.net/2024/Jan/7/c...
