Let’s look for the purple banana until they put us in the truck.
Robin and Batman: Jason Todd by Lemire and Nguyen.
A look back at the formative days of the second Boy Wonder. Always a blast to see the Lemire/Nguyen combo back together.

King’s Watch and Flash Gordon omnibus.
Never seen or read any Flash Gordon before, and only minimal Phantom strips, so this is all new to me, but I really enjoyed it.

‪Brother Lono by Brian Azzarello, Eduardo Risso and Dave Johnson. The Mad Dog from 100 Bullets is back, and he’s trying to find God. ‬
‪It’s a wild ride and weirdly enough, it’s accessible even if you haven’t read 100 Bullets. Still a lot of fun to see Lono back again. ‬

I wonder if it’s in his contract that every show he’s on, he’s just going to steal every scene, every time.

‪100 Bullets by Brian Azzarello, Eduardo Risso and Dave Johnson.‬
‪An absolute masterpiece, and one I enjoyed just as much on a reread as I did the first time. ‬

‪Absolute Green Lantern by Al Ewing and Jahnoy Lindsay.‬
‪By my count, the Absolute books are 5/5. Ewing and Lindsay take all the GL mythos and spin it into a new sci-fi/spiritual story. Really dug this book. ‬

‪The Question: All Along The Watchtower. ‬
‪There’s a lot of characters in this book I really like, some all time favorites. It’s just too bad that they’re all plugged into a story that never quite connects and is a waste of their appeal. Pass‬

Absolute Martian Manhunter v1 by Camp and Rodriguez.
Of the Absolute books I’ve read so far, Martian Manhunter is the one that’s furthest removed from its original source material and it might be my favorite.
It has the old ingredients in a brand new recipe and it’s a blast.

Doctor Strange of Asgard.

My Bad volumes 1-3 by Russell, Ingman, Krause and Fitzpatrick.
A super serious, super funny superhero world with characters like Rush Hour the traffic based hero, a shirtless president John Adams, and Acid Chimp who is a chimp who loves throwing acid at people.
10/10, no notes.

Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu vol 2. Subterranean Jungle.
Everything about this book sings. Every word, every panel, every line of ink and splash of color hit the perfect note.
Marvel’s best book and I don’t even think it’s a close race.

Red Hulk: Prisoner of War.
You ever wondered who exactly likes Red Hulk and keeps wanting more of him?
Yep. That’s me.

- Justice League Unlimited v1
- The Ultimates v2.
Two very different but absolutely great team books. Both have exactly what I want out of the Big Two right now: loud action, huge stakes and a sense of awe.

Weapon X-Men.
They’ve got a super secret important mission that Cable can’t tell them about through the first five issues.
I was just glad to see Chamber running around an X book again.
