Maybe the first time that reading a historical study gave me claustrophobic anxiety 😂

Agreed - I went through a whole campaign with hardly a hope to spend on all the cool things I was supposed to be able to do!

Oh, plus a perennial resolution - run some of my own BOB musical RPG Peculiar Ground. But that involves finding at least 3 other people who: enjoy free-form narrative RP, enjoying sight reading music in unaccompanied 4-part harmony, and can come to my house. 😅

Let me know if you’re looking to play any of these and want to get involved!

3. Run a full campaign of The Between. Love the concept but I’ve taken a few runs at this one and I honestly found it hard to MC and make it land at the table. Time to skill up I guess!

2. Run or play in a campaign of Apocalypse World 3e. Been watching Fallout and the Last of Us, and I need more of that prestige apocalypse drama in my life.

1. Run a campaign of the new Warhammer The Old World RPG. Warhammer needed a modern ruleset and approach, and TOW seems to deliver it. On paper, looks like it takes more inspiration from Blades in the Dark than its trad ancestors. Can’t wait to find out how it runs in practice.

There’s something I really like about Assassins Creed Valhalla compared to Skyrim - a similar fantasy milieu, but the whole world is full of people and agriculture - farms and fisheries alongside the freakishly large ancient temples.

It seems pretty indulgent or naive to think that this is just political strategy, even if it’s an ineffective or unpleasant one. All the evidence suggests that these Labour politicians genuinely are horrible bigots. They really believe this stuff. They really, honestly do hate us.

Neither Legolas nor Aslan feature in the book as the cover suggests. Not sure how any cover could convey how wild the story is though!

Such an amazing novel, but an object lesson in why you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover.

Did Free League discover how to reenact the demonic pact that GURPS made in the 80s?

Anyway, I just did the most Millennial possible thing in response to Kier Starmer’s Enoch Powell turn, and reactivated my long-dormant Liberal Democrat membership.
