I'm just here to post shit.
Cons who see through the respectability charade won't be able to resist attacking the free speech excuse. But isn't free speech important? The controversy is too titillating to ignore and before long Trump's crime crackdown has spiraled into a free speech debate with Nazi Trump posted everywhere.

Democratic politicians respond, "I am disgusted by any act that degrades our country's servicemen, but I also support the right to free speech." This remark works double time as both plausible deniability while paradoxically drawing more attention to the display AND it sets a trap.

Pay a Trump impersonator to wear a Nazi uniform then buffoonishly parade around next to National Guardsmen during photo ops. Then spam it all over social media. "Liberal agenda? What? It's just funny bro. Why do you have to take everything so seriously?"

Because I know this is a deeply unsatisfying answer, allow me to provide an alternative: Changing minds is a delicate art but it can be done. The trick is subtlety, you can't let the target know you're doing it. It's all about incidental reporting and disarming language, such as humor.

Nah, the takeaway here is pretty clear: These voters have it fixed into their mental model that crime is a problem and Democrats are bad on crime so any attempt to defy those perceptions will be met with incredulity. Broader lesson: never argue with your voters no matter how right you are.

This is some "I see through the lies of the Jedi" type shit, lmao.

I don't use twitter/bluesky much so this is my first time encountering the radleft out in the wild. Incredible! It's just like the nature documentaries!

The other lesson is that Trump is way more transactional with the media. He blocks access to unfriendly outlets, elevates non-traditional media that glazes him, and doesn't seem to take much of a hit for supposedly breaking with free speech ideals.

This is a lot less surprising when you realize it's coming from the guy who thought Jake Kumerow could be an NFL starter.

Pennsylvanians are wrong.

The fact that these models require enormous training sets to solve problems most humans would only need a few examples to learn implies something is amiss. It gives the impression of developers patching over bug tickets rather than fixing the underlying architecture.

This is exactly how Republican ideologues built up all those conservative debate bros like Ben Shapiro and Charlie Kirk. Flood money everywhere, see what trends, pull funding from the losers and funnel everything to the winners. It's a pretty standard investment strategy.

Matt have you ever stopped to consider that in your attempt to admonish the left for passive aggressively scolding non-conformists, you've started passive aggressively scolding anyone who doesn't conform to your own orthodoxies? The issue is social media itself. Negativity = engagement.
May 21, 2025 at 1:08 AM
Matt, you must suck at hidden information games. Conservatives have long realized that airing their grievances publicly is a good way to sabotage their partisan influence while achieving fuck all.

"Is MattY charismatic?" is an 80-20 issue.
April 29, 2025 at 12:25 AM
Come on, dude, it's obviously social media. Follow online discourse in literally any other subject and it's the same trend. Outrage = engagement.

I realize you're a big advocate of abundance and social welfare, but maybe it's not healthy to allow so many critics to live in your head rent free.
April 13, 2025 at 8:41 PM
Matt, when are you going to drop this overly performative moderation schitck and just acknowledge that the electorate made a dumb decision that they'll eventually regret.

Look up Dont'e Thornton.
