I agree with you about the demand not being there. My point is just that it’s not an engineering failure of the truck. It’s a marketing failure.

You’re right that people buy trucks for the vibe, but I would push back on it being a dedicated pavement princess. The only place where the Lightning is distinctly less capable than the ICE is long distance towing. I know several people that use Lightnings as work trucks just fine.

Counterpoint: most F150 owners don’t pull a trailer very often and the BEV fits their use case perfectly. So with an EREV most people are going to lug around a heavy gas engine that does nothing most of the time.
