Why am I here? Well, my friends are jumping off the rat-infested ship known as Facebook, and I simply can't live without them. Also, I'm sick of being open about who I am, and yet the algorithms keep sending me right-wing biker posts. Oh, and that toxic masculinity thing Elon and Mark have going on.
When I taught at Texas State, I used Felix Gonzalez-Torres's work in a warm-up exercise. Students were moved by his art. Seeing its meaning truncated is just sad. In this new day of censorship, I wonder if I would even be allowed to present such art in the classroom of a state institution anymore.
