Ugh I love dollys “I’m not dead yet” video so much but I definitely got a little choked up when she said she let herself go a bit after she lost her husband. My grandma died right after grandpa and everyone said she died “of sadness”. I’m glad Dolly seems to be back on track. We love you aunt Dolly.

So kids once upon a time we had a website called LiveJournal which was a blogging sort of social media at that time. Not only did I get closer with many of my friends on that site, but I met new ones. And my husband @allenalchemy.bsky.social . To say that website changed my life is an understatement

I acknowledge some of the “it’s not that easy” but I also feel this is written with an extremely pro Mastodon slant which is fine, I don’t have an issue with Mastodon per se but there *are* issues people have had with that setup too. We can’t win! ✨

Yup.
And posting on X- even helping give Elon money to donate to conservative causes! There’s no ads on bluesky. Everything you do on “right wing social media site X” (my preferred term) helps makes money for Elon directly as it’s not even a publically traded company anymore.

So is there like a perfect model CEO out there? I don’t excuse Jays missteps, but she’s no Elon for gods sake.
If a person doesn’t like bluesky, they can build a clone on AtProtocol with different leadership, that’s how AtProto was designed.
But that person might want to find the perfect leader 1st

AtProtocol is built so that if you don’t like the CEO you can simply build a new bluesky with all the same posts without the bluesky!
Of course maybe it’s not that “simple” but it’s set up that way, but I suspect the loudest voices are waiting for the perfectly unproblematic someone else to do it.

I think it’s also important to remember part of that switch was driven by live 365 moving to astronomical prices and that in turn was due to legislation. So keeping the station as is was never an option. Funny how the government keeps screwing up the things we like 🙃

people come and go as life situations change and that’s okay! I’m going to be very blunt if we hadn’t pivoted to video game general talk the show wouldn’t have made more than another year. That period was QUIET in bemani and before mainstream Twitch. Creating content would have been a chore.

The last chapter felt to me like a big wind up from "I want to prosecute one more case and that's Trump" to a downward slope of "I don't want to say I told you so but I told you so and let's hope Gen Z can fix all this" which left me, again wishing there was just a bit more bite.

Made it thru the rest of the book on the way home. I'm still moved by Harris's professionalism and what a great prez she would have been, I'm glad she admits mistakes made but I wish she wasn't afraid to be a little more direct in her biden criticisms, even as she acknowledges her extreme loyalty.

Made it to LA!!! Drove down here to hang out with @arya-snark.bsky.social belated since my plans last week got thrown.

I got about 60% of the way thru Kamala Harris’s audiobook. I’m glad she self-narrates, though it’s so frustrating to imagine what might have been if it wasn’t for Bidens advisors😒
