I partially agree. The larger part is that Rump is an artisan of distraction. Look at my left hand while my right hand is doing the deed.

I’m with a different agency and that same message, verbatim, was sent by my director. I think this is a coded language bending of the knee to the source of that specific language.

Marc, I really appreciate your piece here. I think so many of us (part of the proverbial “we”) are tuning out is due to the resentment we feel for those who wanted this. In a very real sense, the collective “we” deserve what we get. Best we can do is brace for impact. We are not piloting the plane!

Time will inform us that this isn’t the worst thing to come from this dumpster fire of an administration. It is putrid from its core.

People should end up in jail behind stuff like this, but I’m convinced that nothing is illegal in the higher government spaces. The two-tiered justice system doesn’t apply in this space. Many criminals end up in Congress.

How long can most families last without a paycheck? Even the promise of pay in the future is little comfort, particularly when dealing with someone with only a casual respect for the law.

The problem with that theory is that by law, the services don’t stop. Many federal employees are deemed essential and have to keep working with no paychecks. Expensive experiment that either screws over federal employees or segments of the public. All for an administration not in office yet.

Strange phenomenon called selective forgetfulness. Many choose to forget how truly awful Trump was with coast to coast protests in most cities and massive hate speech throughout the country. This is exactly what we voted for.

I am not a Black woman, but I can relate. I am immeasurably disappointed, but not mad nor surprised by the election results. I am braced to hold on. But when reality hits, like the protests I witnessed across the nation last go around, I think I’m gonna sit this one out. Indeed I will.
