It's been driving me mad, watching all these articles and linkedin posts pop up saying the future of data centres is in space... So obviously a bad idea, the surface area needed to dissipate the heat via radiation is ridiculous.

I had the same, it lasted about 3 months from August through Sept, and then went over the next few weeks. Cleared up on its own sometime in November.

The cooling equipment is often on the roof of the data center, leaving even less space for solar. More focus on making the data center more efficient would be the first step. Heat reclaim if it can be locally used etc.
