Still not sure about BlueSky after moving from FB. Seems empty. So I started a new Facebook account and thought it would be sparse. But I am getting so much crap from Facebook, which is making me not exactly loving Facebook.

A little about me. BS and MS in plant and soil science (horticulture), University of Minnesota. Worked as naturalist with county park system and as a photojournalist for MN DOT, Former editor of Outdoor Photographer magazine. Author/photographer. Fascinated by 3 "B's" – bugs, bats and blossoms!

This looked to me like some weird planet. Maybe a new version of the death star! It is the seedpod of the daturus or jimson weed.

Native Southern California harvester ants. They were really cool to find because in many areas the invasive Argentina ants have wiped them out.

A honeybee working hard at a chaparral beardstongue. I love getting close and showing the setting as well as the close-up. I’ve done a lot of books on photography. Working on some other projects now.

I got tired of FB and so am now trying out Bluesky!
